I downloaded CCS and can get everything working with a remote and Local (wamp) mySQL up to the point of actually see the data.
I'm connecting to both local and remote DB, since I can see the table names in the "Data Source" property.
But when I preview I get no records and I can't get the live page to display. I get a "The page cannot be displayed" error.
Any help would be great.
Thanks for reading my post.

Does the web bar (at the top of the page when you are in live page mode) display the correct url?
e.g.: http://www.bildercache.de/anzeige/20080922-102049-221.jpg
Compare it with your server url setting in the publishing pane of your project settings.
In my case it'll look like: http://localhost/cruise_db
If these don't match the page won't be found.

Jack

Hey Jack,
Thanks for the reply.
The url is "http://localhost/proj8/t_bbmls_catagor_maint.php" in CCS live page.
When I copy it to firefox i get...
Database error: cannot use database No database selected
MySQL Error
Session halted.
Yet, I can see and select table from the database (both local and remote depending on which connection) and I can connect to the DB via MySql admin and see the data.
I can't figure out where I should be setting the database other than the component level? I see the tables, so there is a connection to the DB within CCS, it just is not publishing the DB connection info.
Thanks again

Mh, this is not the same error that you get inside CSS (on the live page).
Project settings - connections - [the connection you created]: Are the settings in the server tab correct? Firefox does not find the db / server so maybe you should check that.

Jack

Hi Jack,
Thanks sticking with me.
I found that under the Project Explorer the connections their is a SEPERATE place for PHP4/5 with templates connection to the DB!
I have been able to connect both local and remote.
For the record the live page doesn't work, but I can cut and paste the URL into firefox and it does come up??? Must be a setting or something?
I found no reference to this DB connection settings, even after I found the fix.
Hopefuly someone will be able to use this fix. I found theses Settings ONLY under the graphical Project explorer below "diagrams". Click on the connection and below the regular connection settings in the seperate PHP4/5 settings.
Thanks Jack for making me look harder

No, this is not a seperate place. It shows the values that you enter inside the server tab in the project settings under connections -> [the connection you created]

Mh, as I said before you should find these settings in the server tab. One thing that might change all your connection settings is when you switch from server1 to server2 or vice versa in the publishing part of your project settings. Settings for design mode (e.g. your live page) and server mode (the real server that you use in your production environment) have to be entered for both servers if you want to publish either locally or to an ftp...
Maybe it'll help if you post 3 screenshots. Publishing part, Design and Server tab of your project settings.
Regards,
Jack

Hi Jack,
I see what you mean the Server Tab lower part is the same as the graphical Project explorer connections lower part. I see that the PHP SQL window makes reference to the "Sever2" publishing connection.

below is my server settings.

Below is my design/local settings...

Hopefully this gives some insite.
Thanks for helping me get off the ground.

Looks fine so far
Can you do me a favour and post two additional screenshots?
Design tab for server 1 and server 2. Both of these should (probably) match. If you use connection strings (it won't be visible in total length in the screenshot) please post them in textform, too (user and password strings can be obfuscated).
Regards,
Jack

I don't know if this can help, but try using localhost in Host name , also verify the date format in mysql yyyy/mm/dd
