Hi,
in CCS 3, i was able to put in the translation something like this:
Click on your name to continue. <BR>If you're not listed, <a href="http://test.com/test/2008_identification.php?locale=en&profile_id=1&Event_ID=3">please click here.</a>
Now i work with CCS 4.1.00.027 and when i want to edit a translation key containing text like the one above, and click on the 'OK' button, the dialog window does'nt did anything and i was only able to click on the red x mark to close the dialog window because the program stop responding. So i have to close CCS.
Help please

I understand that you are saying that your CCS4 is crashing when you edit a translation key.
I have this problem on my Sony Vaio laptop Vista Business with ccs4 and several other crazy things that cause loss of code, and corrupted templates. I have a ticket with support on this.
My business parter gave me a fairly new iMac he wasn't using with VMware running windows XP. I have installed CCS 4.1.00.027 and transfered my 3 current projects and CCS is behaving perfectly.
You need to contact support and explain what is happening so we can get this fixed.
My work around (before the iMac) was to not open translation files from menu project settings. I was opening each language one at a time from Project Explorer | Resources.
Regarding the above link. May I suggest:
If the link is on the page outside of a record, grid, panel, etc.
Click somewhere on blank space on your page in CCS so you see the page properties. Click Attributes (a box will open). Select the new attribute tab. Create a name (e.g. mylink) and select Expression. The click on the ok button.
Cut your above link from the page and replace with {page:mylink}
Now create a page before show event and add the following:
global $CCSLocales;
$CCSLocales->SetLocale('en'); // get rid of this when your ready with your other translation files
$text = $CCSLocales->GetText(' translation_text_name_here", ' ') ;
$link = '<a href="http://test.com/test/2008_identification.php?profile_id=1&Event_ID=3">' . $text . '</a>';
// insert the link into the page attribute value
$Container->Attributes->SetValue('mylink', $link);

First: I copied and pasted your translation string (lazyness) and it worked
Quote :Click on your name to continue. <BR>If you're not listed, <a href="http://test.com/test/2008_identification.php?locale=en&profile_id=1&Event_ID=3">please click here.</a>
I'm using CCS 4.1.00.027
Well, it looks that your problem doesn't belong to the project itself. CCS 4.x crash in a wide range of common tasks.
Only two observations:
1) Your field must be an html field (of course, you must know it)
2) If you don't get it working, you can always edit your translation file manually (not recommended) in your project's root directory en.txt (english), es.txt (spanish) and so on.
Try the last one and tell us...

Curiously, I changed a translation in a current working project and inserted your string, only to see and it worked.
Now, changing it back to only a word (english and spanish), and it crashed like you described. Not crashed in translating the custom html, crashed when saving the single-world translation.

Building an international site in ccs CCS 4.1.00.027 has a provable repeatable problem. I won't say bug, as I don't know what the intentions where of the developers when they invented this concept.
Today, I am doing some final updates on the public pages of the latest project I'm working on.
This crash we have described above happened when replacing the existing html in the en.txt file with the updated html.
I tried to cheat by compressing the html into a single line and adding the new html directly to the en.txt file. Then i discovered that CCS would crash on startup.
So, I have deleted this particular translation from the language packs and I am going to create a folder tree for page includes. Create a folder for each language.
Then all i need to do is call the content in the Page BeforeShow using the language folder correct for the locale. The other advantage of doing this is that my clients want to be able to edit their page contents if needed, so I can give them a way to edit these include pages in the admin panel using the fckeditor.
I also installed Sun VIrtual machine with Win XP, and ccs on my Vista laptop yesterday. It crashes the same way doing the same things as discussed above.
Note in Sun's Virtual Machine: The virtual Machine uses NAT translation which mean no SSH is possible. I also can't access the XAMPP installation on it's host (Vista), which is a bummer Was hoping to ditch the Mac.
