Hello Oper,
If you read spanish you can see in this link the following review:
http://www.blogpocket.com/2008/09/14/artisteer-creando-...ss-en-un-click/
Machine translation:
"A thing that interested me to verify was how devised finally the so much code of the CSS as of the different files of the theme. And just as there was supposed, that aspect is the great objection of this tool. A CSS very long, very difficult to understand and little recommended for novices. The files of the theme have also you split quite cryptic. Things that it do not do especially useful to create themes for distribute, therefore would be very complicated their modification."
1.- I normally use Layout Gala, I decide which is more suitable for my design and then I try to adapt to the xHTML/CSS output. http://blog.html.it/layoutgala/
2.- I look into these sites for inspiration and Ideas: http://www.oswd.org/ http://www.openwebdesign.org/ http://www.opendesigns.org/
3.- I try to have a short and clean xHTML/CSS layout. I delete all tables markup created by CCS,
4.- I try to make the easiest and simple CSS in an external sheet, that fits the need, and I remember a lot of M$ in my long nights of fightings with IE issues.
5.- When possible I validate the work with: http://validator.w3.org/
Best regards
joejac
P.D. by the way, will you be so kind to answer some questions I did not get clear from your ideas posted here: http://forums.yessoftware.com/posts.php?post_id=102735 thanks a lot Oper.

Hi
What can I say about Artisteer??? Well I have purchased it and used it on a major project I started.
I have mixed feelings about how it exported and interfaced with CCS4.
I have to say the visual method of design is outstanding and certainly makes one of the tasks I hate the most very easy and WYSIWYG.
The export it CCS is problematic at the most. The page template it creates is useless I think. Or at least I could not find any use for it. The Main.php file, however, is much more useful.
What has to happen when you export to CCS is all CCS pages you create must have the Artsy header and footer included. Then you might want to do like I did and actually create a working template with all the Artisteer components defined and stub out where you content will go in that layout.
After you have done that you can start putting CCS componenents into your page. BUT after you have done that you need to go and see in Main.php how that particular component is set up and you will have to edit the CCS generated HTML for each component.
This can get tedious.
Another thing is the Artisteer template puts it's files in the root directory. Therefore multiple styles requires more editing to the templates etc.
Also, artisteer and CCS menus cannot be on the same page and artisteer does not support vertical menus.
Here is my first project using Artisteer http://webtestinglive.com
This project was the 3 colomn template. The steps I had to take was.
1. Build a usable template with the 3 colomns and dummy text in each so placement of CCS components would be easy.
2. Add the CCS components to the pages where needed.
3. Edit the CCS component style defs to match those in Main.php for that template.
4. Be careful when editing pages since CCS likes to re-format HTML in favor of it's template.
Even with this extra work. I liked the ability to create a CSS style using WYSIWYG.
When Yes and Artisteer get the integration down, This will be a tremendous tool for all of us. In my opinion, it just is not there yet but I am confident it will get there.
Have fun

we own the product we are doing few test....
we will test with a customer we have in list, so i will see how easy will be.
for now the huge amount of DIV are really hard to modify so we create a class
and dont include anymore those on the Template Page, we have to change few stuff to make the Style Dynamic.
i will show the web when ready. but for quick and easy Paint stuff look really cool. http://www.ArtesEnHilo.com
