I've developed a quite large project for a customer using Mysql as database now the customer wants to migrate the application to Postgres. Will I face any problem? Which are the right steps for the migration? Any other suggestion? I've developed the application with CCS 3.1 and plan to keep on using that version even if I bought also v.4.
Thank you very much.

the theory goes - just change your ODBC connector but keep the same name....

Yes that's the theory, an abstraction layer where things always go smooth Is there anybody with a direct experience? Or can the support give us some directions?
Thank you.

life is not predictable
large project means liklihood of issues is higher
important project requires thorough testing
tell your customer it will take x hours to duplicate db, x hours to test sql queries, x hours to test new connection strings, x hours of code testing by you, x hours of user acceptance testing
if they are prepared to pay then do all of the above and you will have a good chance of success
if they are not willing to pay then stay with mysql and know it all works

If I recall there were issues with Postgres data tables with underscores
in the names. That was awhile ago though.

and of course, if you used any triggers, or stored procedures, those would need changed.
I don't think the transition would be too bad if it's a fairly straight forward database structure, but I'm sure it will take some time to test and make sure it's working.

I'm going on with the migration, till now I've found only minor problems that could easily be solved, it's just a tedious job. Anyway at the end I'll post a summary to let you know the problems and the solutions I've found. Thank you for your answers.
