I don't understand why ccs does not allow dashes in the file names.
This is pretty useful if you want search engines to use the link url in its search results.
I want to avoid the underscore as I see better results with the dash than I do with underscore.
What do you do to get around if anything?

I don't know how, but you could write a rewrite rule for the spiders
(mod_rewrite).

good idea but I don't want to pay a re-direct penalty in search engines...
I consider this a critical problem for SEO purposes...
