update panel - children as triggers

Hi

I am using an update panel to refresh a grid. I set the "children as triggers" to "no" because i call it manually. My problem is after a refresh the "children" (links on the grid) will refresh the panel.

This only happens after a refresh has been made.
Is there a way to reset that property in javascript?
