hi there

I have IE 6.0 on pmy PC then I install new IE 8.0 from microsoft website.
When I open Codecharge studio 4.2 to do my project, I found the table in design mode become invisible (not shown).
The table can view only if I give table border more than 0 pixel.

Now, I'm back to IE 6.0 after uninstall the 8.0 version. And my design in codecharge look normal again.

Is CCS 4.2 not compatible to IE 8.0 ?

It is more like IE 8.0 treats CSS & Tables a bit different.

Did you tried a different Style?

I have been using 8.0 for a while with no problems.

We've seen this same behavior after an upgrade to IE8.

Dependes on how users set their browser, in strict 8 mode then css must be 2.1 compliant.

This link will tell you the tag to use on your pages:

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/internet-explorer/read....aspx#updateIE7

This link is good reading:

Good info Clint. But recognize that this is the problem in the CCS
Designer, where table borders are no longer visible unless a border is
explicitly set. The setting under Tools -> Options -> Design Editor for
'Show Borders' doesn't seem to have any effect.

I've verified that this occurs in CCS3.2 and CCS4.2 after upgrade to IE8.

Just for more verification, rolling back to IE7 following the
instructions here:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/957700

brings back the borders in CCS.

Hi

Try this metatag in IE8

<meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=EmulateIE7" />

Might solve the problem

Nope. Same problem. No table border except some weird line on the left border both with and without the meta tag.

This issue has been validated by Yes. The temporary "fix" is to not run
IE8 on development machines.

Here is the patch that should resolve issues related to IE8 browser:

http://support.yessoftware.com/files/IE8DesignMode.zip

Please extract the emailed archive to:

..\CodeChargeStudio4\Components\Templates\HTML\ folder

replacing the existing files. After that start CCS and regenerate your project.

But be carefull, I applied the patch and now the "border problem" is gone. However a new problem came to surface where CCS added something like " < style needdelete etc.> to my html wich causes problems. You can manually remove it before publishing, but it is a pain.

Support is investigating but I have not heard back from them for over a week now...

We encountered this new problem and reported it well over a month now
and haven't heard back. Can't really find a commonality as to why it
happens. It's happening to us so far in every project.
