If I set the $items->UpdateAllowed = false; on AfterInitialize event, is it secure? I mean, what if I submit teh form locally from my computer while I am still in the session in the application in my browser? All the form checks is if there is a value in SAVE or SUBMIT button, it updates the record.

Is it more secure to do this in OnUpdate event of the recordset or AfterInitialize is equally secure?

Thanks.

If I understand your question correctly, setting update allowed to false should work equally secure in either place.

The main difference between those 2 events is that the afterinitialize event is executed on both GET and POST actions of the page. The onUpdate only executes on POST.

One thing I am not sure about is if the objects you want to change have been constructed by the time afterInitialize is fired.
