YES SOFTWARE - can you please make your product more friendly or open so I can see more and more 3rd party components developed for CCS. So far there is almost nothing available and there must be a reson for that. I'm not sure if this is SDK or something else but it would help your product a lot if you have more 3rd party add ons.

Optron

Yes there is an SDK for CCS. I am not sure if it is kept current any more. You can find it on Yes's downloads or examples area.

Also here are a couple sites to get CCS add-ons, modules, and utilities

http://codechargetools.com/

And

http://www.ccselite.com/online_store.php

Also on that second link to CCSE, anyone can create a component, module, add-on, tool.... etc. And upload it for sale.

So if you or anyone has a great add-on for CCS upload and sell it here. That is the exact reason the CCSE store was built. It was designed to allow people to create these software gems to enhance CCS and keep it viable as you suggested

for the last 3-4 years, that's nothing,...
I wish to see at least well over a 100,
and if this would happen then CCS would glow!

Is there is anybody who makes components reading this post, here is a list
of few requests:

1. Image TO/FROM BLOB
2. Payment gateway (other than PayPal)
3. Joomla integration
4. NNET integration
5. Import/Export for SQL databases
6. SMS component
7. SKYPE component
8. Better AJAX
9. Send Email component
10. Form Wizard component
11. Advanced Query component

........ this list could be really long

I know all this could be done by hand, but the whole idea of CCS is to avoid
coding is possible to make development more efficient,...
Hopefully some will pick from here

Hi,

How much money will you pay for the requested components ?

After Yes published the SDK long long ago there is only one group that developed 3rd party tools to CCS. - seems that either CCS is not popular enough or it is to hard to develop extensions.

We checked the estimated cost to develop some products for internal use. The estimation was that it will cost us around 10K$ to develop several components we need. currently we copy/past them from project to project with manual changes. it cost us around 60$ to integrated a component this way, while custom component will save around 50$
do the math - 200 integrations ~5 years in our case...

We use only Perl so if we want to sell it we need PHP & C# we estimated no one will pay more then 50-100$ for it so no way we will develop it we need to sell and support ~ 150 customers. just to return development cost and we will loose money because of the required support... :(

well even if the components are dedicated to one only platform they will still find users. I think limiting to one platform only will lower the costs, butr still it might be to hight. Of course I will not pay probably more than you estimated for a single component. Personally I'm interested only in ASP/.NET/PHP and I do not care for others. One can start developing i.e for PHP initially and then add more platforms as time goes by.

I have never worked on any components so I have no idea how hard/easy is it do develop, and I have no idea about YesSoft. tools provided. One thing I know there isn't enough support and encouragement from Yes Software and that kills product grow. :-(

Hopefully somebody from YES could read this and rethink their policy.

Arthur
