Ok I can make tabs b ut there is an issue which makes them unusable for me.
Page opens and there are three tabs. If you click on tab 2 or 3 and use a search box or click on a sorter, it resets the page and you are back to tab 1.
There is a thread here taht says to place the tabs in an Update Panel.. but the tabs dont display when I do that.
Is there a work around? Fix?

Got it
Drop a Tabbed View
Then a Tab, then an Update panel, then the grid.
Repeat.
