Hi
I'm trying to display data in the usual grid with search method.
However, my database is normalised, ie, some of the data is stored in a few different tables - eg. keywords.
I want to be able to display the full record, with the data from different the different tables, all in one place. I've done an SQL join query and created the grid, but now the search won't work on it.
If anyone has any ideas, I'd be grateful.
Thanks

raksmistry,
The search does not get anything from the db anyways, but rather gets from user what to query for and passes it on to the grid. So, it is the grid job to return data or not.
You should examin how the grid behaves with respect to the search. Ex: do you have multiple fields to search for, and how are they related? Are you using AND or OR logical for your search? I bet if you have multiple fields on your search and use the builder, it is set to AND, and this means each field must contain something to search for.
So, examine your grid by going into the datasourse and clicking on the detial and review and modify as necessary.
I hope this helps out. Thanks,
