Hi All

I am attempting to install CCS 3.2 on Ubuntu 9.1 using Crossover v 9 (http://www.codeweavers.com).

I need to know which windows dependency fills CCS 3.2 users in order to run.

For example

MSXML 3.0

MDAC 2.8

C++ 2005

Regards

Jerry

I've been in contact with CodeWeavers on this myself re: CCS I tried to get running on Crossover/Wine on Ubuntu and Opensuse. They advise it won't work.
Also ran it on Virtual Box myself with good results.

Hello ckroon and MichaelMcDonald

I have a question, please:

How is the performance of CCS runing in Linux under VirtualBox compared to runing CCS directly in Vista or Windows 7.

I would like to switch to Linux, but I have a speed concern running Windows Applications under Virtual Machines.

Best regards

Speed is not an issue at all. 4 Gig Ram helps.

Thanks a lot Oper and ckroon.

Does anybody knows which linux is the most advanced and fast for web development including web applications and graphics?.
An IT friend recommended me Gentoo, others Sabayon, Kubuntu, PCLinuxOS and Zenwalk.

Which one?

Thanks and regards

Joe:

In fact all Linux distribution are the same. Same kernel, same apps. The diference is which app are include by default and which don't. Also since each distro features one or two releases per year you'll see different versions of installed app.

The good notice is: since you install your distro you can install everything you want. There are not anyone "better" than the another. It's up the package preinstalled.

Don't take time discussing "this one is better" since all you can have in Ubuntu can also be there in gentoo, sabayon or fedora. Everything.

It's up to you, and the packages which you feel better.

I would recomend Mandriva Linux it has control panel and is the easiest one to use IMHO. I have Win XP and CCS running just fine there.

Hi All

The orginal question was about CCS 3.2 working in crossover in linux.

Perhaps support could give me an asker to this question. ???????

Mandriva Linux is one of many versions of linux. There are more popular desktop linux like Ubuntu and Mint Linux (http://distrowatch.com/).

There are some standard graphical desktops for linux like Gnome and KDE to name but two, which allow linux to be personalised.
