i have a problem coming up with a Price Calculation using codeCharge Example.
is there any other way of doing it apart from the codecharge example

Can you be more specific? What precisely is wrong with your calculations and in what form do you want it to be? For example are you adding a column in a grid or doing a calculation on a single database record?
The example of adding columns works fine and is a pretty common way of doing it if you have a grid with a number of record rows to add to a total.
