Just installed CCS B5.

Created a simple app.

On selecting the publish action, the site is publised to the project path and not the publishing->server path

Raghu,
have you selected Local/Network publishing option?
The sites built with beta 5 are published correctly for me.
But site files are also back up in project folder.
