While testing a page with a large grid (100-ish rows, 30-ish columns), I have struggled to figure out why it is taking over 2.5 minutes to render in IE.
I happened to bring up that page in Chrome and it renders in *LESS THAN TWO SECONDS*.
No I'm not here to promote Chrome. My question is this: does anyone have an idea what my page might have in it that makes IE choke?

laneoc,
What version of IE are you using?? Have you added any custom code to differentiate between web browser versions??

The issue was at the workstation.
It appears that a virus scanner is processing the page before releasing control back to IE. That's just my guess, based on testing on various workstations with and without the virus scanning software.

Just to add on here.. I am noticing a lag with IE on my large CCS created site as well...
I just ran a test.. same workstation....
FF: 3 seconds to get to home page after login (there is a heavy menu on this page)
IE: 6 seconds
Even more reason to use Firefox :)

Turn off IE7+'s myriad of filtering crap that's supposed to be "helpful".
