Yes, well I downloaded it. It installs a lot of software additionally to the IDE. I have to say its not very nice when it comes to designing the screen. Its a hierarchical list of components and does not have a design view as nice as CCS. Other thing is its # only, which I am not a fan of. Although its nice to have that option.
Not impressed, seems like more microsoft bloat. First time you run it, it took 3 minutes to start "please wait configuring user settings, this may take several minutes". Its a IDE not a OS!
Oh well. Interesting project, but not hot on the heals of CCS in my opinion. Unfortunately MS will market this as the best for # developers or anyone rapid development needs.

Query: does this develop applications only in silverlight? (that would explain the truly dreadful 'lightswitch' name.) Or does it create normal (aspx) pages? I'm not much interested in silverlight pages (is anyone?).
I tried to install it but it failed, oddly enough, on installing silverlight - which another site tells me I already have installed. Having read your mini-review, I think I'll give it a miss.
