I know people have talked about this before - I've been through the forum and still can't get php to connect to the database.

Design view works fine tho.

My system is:
Vista
SQL Exporess 2008 R2
WAMP

I've done all the right things to the server and included the ntsdblib.dll ver. 2000.80.194.0 in all the places its used.

Firstly which options should I be trying to use in the server connection dialog?

SOLVED - I'll leave this here in case its useful to someone else.

I am too used to using MySQL where the host name is always localhost. It seems that for SQL Server the host name is the exact name of the server. If you have SQL Express the name is something like COMPUTERNAME\SQLEXPRESS
