I would like to know if anybody has worked with the worldwide cities database provided by Geoname?
I would like to use it but it's quite HUGE and I was wondering if someone has expirance with it or with its webservice.

Looks fairly straightforward. Web service seems the way to go. There
are many examples posted for using it, or Google geonames+php for more
examples and classes to use.
They allow 30,000 requests per day, or 2,000 per hour. That's more than
enough for most.
