Environment WAMP CCS 4

Question #1

I have several reports I built with report builder that work just fine.

Reports have the 'printable version' link that generates a printable version on screen.

In order to physically print I need to do Ctrl+P.

Is there anyway to automate so when I use link Printable Report it generates the report and physically prints it without have to Ctrl+P?

Question #2

I have several situations where I put multiple reports on the screen.

When I use the Printable Version Link it does not consistently paginate the report and wastes a lot of paper. Is there a way to control how this would paginate the physical report?

Thanks for any insight!
:-)

#1: The best you're going to be able to do is present the print dialog
with javascript's window.print().

#2: I think for much more granular control of printed output, you'll be
better served by generating a PDF of the reports. It involves more
work, but you'll be the envy of your user base.

I obtained a solution thanks to Helen at CCS Support to the printing without CTRL+P and that is to use a javascript to accomplish this.

In my case since I was already using an include file with a hyperlinks I created called 'printer_output' with the html code as follows:

<A HREF="javascript:window.print()">PRINT HARDCOPY</A>

This opens the standard print dialogue so the user can choose the printer etc and obtain hardcopy on demand.

A full explanation can be found on the web a http://www.htmlgoodies.com/beyond/javascript/article.ph...-JavaScript.htm

They explain how to enhance this too!

The pagination problem is now solved too - It was a problem caused by FIREFOX in this case. To resolve I set top and bottom margin to zero in page setup!
