I am having this problem for a while now. When a file like Microsoft word is uploaded into our memo system, Users with Window 7 OS can not download and view the file. When they try to download it, It opens as a Folder with other unknown files in it.

I need help on this ASAp

Thanks

are the files .docX or .xlsX files?
these are I believe actually .zip files containing several xml and other files which word and excel 2007/2010 can open as a single unit... i think the problem is actually the browser recognises the internal format as .zip and opens it with explorer instead of word/excel...
test again uploading the files in 2003 format - eg .doc and .xls and let us know if we are on the right track...

@Damian, You are absolutely right. In 2003 format, It opens.

What should I do then?

popularanky,

I had this problem a time back and it seemed to be related to mime types like described here

http://www.onlinehowto.net/Tutorials/Apache/Apache-MIME...fice-files/1436

This discussion reminded me I had to update a new server :)

kirchaj solution looks good to me - or - you allow upload of only .doc and .xls - not the newer versions.
