Hello Chargers,
I have had a problem that has been plaguing me for a while. If I create a report with a builder, and the report has any table joins, and publish it. It works. If I make any modifications, such as adding a table to add a country name instead of country index number, the SQL query gets corrupted and the form, even if editing the SQL by hand, so the forum errors on calling saying a column can not be found. The column is usually a primary key unrelated to the new column added. The column is there and it is in the Query statement but rearranged into a non-functioning order..

Anyone have this problem?

If I create a report with all the fields in place, and all the joins connected, the report will work, but not after any changes to the report. This has been happening consistently for a while on complex queries. I do not remember running into this until about 3 months ago.

Make backups. Then, delete the .php page and let it rebuild. See if
that helps anything.

Hi Datadoit, thanks for the suggestion.

I tried that earlier because it has been the cure for corrupted pages in the past. Not sure this is corrupted page as much as reordering the join "ON" statements a non-functioning SQL query due to the function that renders it being broken. It only happens with reports and it happens every time there are changes to a SQL query that has more than 3 joins.
I did get the report working just now by hand coding the 15 line query and pasted that in. I was hoping to be able to have CCS generate it so mods could be done if needed. It took me a long time to get the syntax perfect for what I was trying to do however. This report is a replacement for one that I did a couple years ago that got deleted when the project was done. At that time, CCS handled changes with ease.

In the past, I never had this problem so possible the whole CCS has to be uninstalled and installed from the original download. The report builder is one of the most useful of all and I've create all sorts of reports and merge documents with it since it was introduced.

I'll see if I can break something with more than 3 joins in a report
here. If so, this should be sent to support.

Is creating a database view and referencing that out of the question for
your project?

Hi Datadoit

If you try it, create a report with some joins...makes no difference what type of joins, publish it and verify that it works. Then add something, I saw it most with adding a table, which adds another join statement. 100% it creates a non-functioning query now for me.
I just uninstalled my 4.03 and reinstalled hoping that the problem is a corrupted function in the original installation. No luck.
I did not think of using a stored procedure and calling that, I only need to pass one parameter. I'll try that.
The next step is Yes Support, who I seldom if ever contact...so far all my problems have been my own fault or something that I got a clue about reading the forum. I have had, overall, very little to report to Support, 4.03 has been very stable for me.
