I have a record form where one of the fields (user_id) is taken from the users table with a listbox showing all the users names (full_name) and the bound column is ID.
Now, the client wants to be able to select a user either via a badge_number which all users have as well as by the full name. Remember, the listbox boxes should be ordered by full_name or badge_number. My first solution is as follows but would love to know if there is a more eloquent way to do this:

1) Two listboxes, one with text field of full_name and the other with text field of badge_number.
2) Both can be shown/hidden
3) Radio button to select "Choose by Full Name" or "Choose by Badge Number"
4) Depending on which button clicked .... show/hide list boxes.
5) Hidden field to hold the ID in the onchange event of whichever listbox is being used. (js)

This just seems such a mess but perhaps is the only way.
Any other ideas?

Thanks for the reply Waspman. I think you are right...no easier way to go about this.
Oh well. It works anyway.
