Hi,
I've been away from Codecharge for several years.
Is there a link for new features in version 5?

beta was released in the last 24 hours only...
I think you will have to download it and see what readme/help is included... http://support.yessoftware.com/updates.asp

Unfortunately, so far it won't get past some XML Dom check, when loading. Trying it on Windows 7.
After Passing the 'Verifying XML Dom Document... Passed, it won't go any further.
Doesn't matter. As the beta progresses, I'll continue to download the next build, give that a try, and send feedback.

Ok, I'll try that tomorrow, thanks.
I just tried it on a different Windows 7 PC, and it seems to run fine.
Question: If we purchase 4.3 this week, will it entitle us to a free upgrade to 5.x, when it comes out? Or should we wait until 5.x is out of beta? The last version I purchased was 3.x.

Hi all,
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Great news about ccs5 beta! my question is simple: can I install ccs5 in parallel with my current installed version ccs3 and ccs4? So I can use all 3 versions independent each other. anybody knows?

Gena,
All three can be installed on your system together. Don't forget to install it in a different directory. Enjoy!!!

You can send file CCS.log from folder with application to the support. Crashes on start will be fixed very soon. :)

Hello,
I am very happy to see CCS moving!
BTW, some flaws I experienced:
- in File explorer pane, right click gives wrong popup, screenwise width, no text in it ...
- closing the application (CCS5) thhrows a windows read fault on some 0x???????? address. (if I will see it again I will write it down)
- creating connection on localhost mysql/asp project was quite a slow
- overall speed is a bit less than CCS4.3
- I do not see internationalization feature in datadictionary for custom text, like input/display title, captions... etc
- spinner represented within the IDE Design pane like a common text field
What is good:
- help UPDATED
- during operation NO CRASH at all - very stable.
- datadictionary looks VERY GOOD.
- design templates NICE
. summarizing: new features are great advantages for me for the everyday projects.
Some disappointments:
- no version following with Prototype, still 1.6.1 included (1.7 the current)
- no stunning javascript based, fancy GUI features, like element animation, like accordion etc.
test properties: os: XP SP3 HUN (hungarian), DB: MySQL, Script lang: ASP

Here's an improvement: when you rename a control, e.g. a text box, the focus remains on the control so you can set other features. With previous versions you always had to re-select the control afterwards.
The calendar selector is nice (although it has no year selector buttons as the popup version has).

I I have not been on the forum lately and just discovered the Version 5 Beta. I found that it ran nicely, no cashes so far and a slicker look. The best features after just playing for 30 minutes are the data dictionary and when the focus is on a control in design mode, switching to HTML mode sets the focus to the proper line.
I notice however that the ribbon along the top requires more mouse clicks to do simple tasks such as deleting a table row or column than before.
It is nice to see YesSoftware still developing CCS.
