For your information the following clarification was given re. licenses for version 5:
Quote :CodeCharge Studio 5.0 requires new license keys and works only in trial mode until purchased.
There are no installation notes, but you can contact our product support for more information: http://support.yessoftware.com/
The trial version has a 20-day trial limit, and allows creating maximum 45 pages per project.
Perpetual licenses are subject to upgrades.
No idea what the cost or upgrade cost will be. Hope this is helpful info.

By analogy with the release of CCS4, we can assume that upgrade to CCS5 is free for non-perpetual licenses. And, maybe, for all licenses, purchased last month or two.

The information page concerning "Users with Non-Perpetual licenses can get Free Serial Number for CodeCharge Studio 5.0" information page states
This is the Standard License that gives you the right to own and run the software forever, similarly to buying a packaged software in a store. Minor software upgrades/updates/patches will be offered free of charge for unlimited time. However, major software upgrades may be offered in the future at an additional cost, for example
an upgrade from CodeCharge Studio version 4.0 to version 5.0 may be priced at $200 (exact pricing to be determined at the time of the release).
You can protect yourself from additional upgrade fees by subscribing to the Annual Maintenance Plan (CodeCharge), or by purchasing a non-perpetual license (subscription) instead.
