I am using CCS5 to view and make testing changes to applications written in CC3 (then upgraded to CCS4) and CCS4.

The apps seem to publish ok and work okay but everytime I save or publish I see

Quote :
The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect.

\\

What is this caused by? I can't seem to figure it out so it can be fixed moving forward...

do you have your projects path saved in URL format
aka
//develserver/ccs5/projectfiles ? ??

I had to put porject files on local drive to alliviate this.
Or map the URL path to a locak drive and then save that way.

Alos can be publishing to a remote URL,

same solution map the URL to a local drive and setup publishing of CCS5 to the mapped drive.

Thank you for the response netguy! Yes, I did have them saved in URL format, then changed it to a mapped drive. I am working off a remote server so what you say makes sense. I never had this problem in the past so it threw me off. Something must have changed even in the later releases of CCS 4.3 as that is when I started to see this happening.

I still publish to a remote server but I've moved the file storage local and I don't have as many pop-ups about it.

Thank you again for shedding some light on this for me.
