We currently do not store images in any database, rather they are stored on a fileshare and are navigated to via the unique ID associated with the Issue. For example, we have a Customer issue # 123456. Customer has uploaded one or more photos to help describe or show their product issue. I currently have a 3rd party software that is used to allow the upload of images, placing them in a folder called 123456 on the server. This software also displays an image gallery for any of the photos already found in the said 123456 folder. unfortunately this software is old and it now has a problem in it that makes the upload page unreadable. Rather than trying to fix this 3rd party software, we want to create something that will integrate better with the CodeCharge used for the rest of this web application. I have been looking at the Gallery Builder but it looks to me like I would need to store all of our images (or at least links to them) in the database to use the image Gallery builder.

Is there a way I can use the Gallery Builder to navigate to the image folders without putting all the image links into the database? I don't mind storing the folder link in the database if that is necessary, but I'd prefer to be able to simply use the file system if I can figure out how and how to keep it secure (only allow update new .jpg or .gif or .pdf files), no deleting or moving, edtiting, etc.

Any thoughts?
