To Be Honest Lucius,

I hate to see people crying about CSS 5.0 because some Issue.
We only are doing new things in CCS5, we are still working in 4.3 with importan App.

To be Honest Again there is nothing you can do in CCS5 that you cant do in CSS4

its just about been smart and know when is the best time to switch.

I'm Just a Backup FAN. :)
we keep Backup of 30day BackWard and12 Month Backward BACKUP for all the APP and Database in the company.

Still few BUGS in CCS5, but that does not stop us or anyone from making maybe 10 time the cost of the product in few month.

My Adviced for new APP go ahead and try CCS5. for old 4.3 stay there unless you have time to fix some stuff manually.

our plan is learn and test CCS5 until around Octuber and then switch to CCS5 (one App a time)

My Signature has "Do Backup First" Statement as you can see. (Maybe too Paranoic) ;-)

we have 4 People working on CCS, Just me and another working in CCS5

PS: We still have 1 Application working in DOS develop in "C" for about 15Years without any issue. we just started moving this year.

if you have time to spare or some employed to do the Test/Try/Error ro Switch then doit. if not just Play with CCS5.

as soon we get time we are going to switch all app. (1 by 1)

Thanks for the answer :-)

I am developing whole new, big project with version 5 from the start, so I am aware that there are lot of bugs in CCS5, I have reported one today and left one very nasty (connected to totally borked localization feature) for tomorrow.

And I do have a backup BAT that makes me a copy of all files as often as I need (usually few times each day), so you're not the only paranoid here. Although I don't think it's being paranoid - a good practice that CCS has taught me...

As for old apps, I'm a firm believer in "Better is an enemy of good" and "Don't fix what is not broken" proverbs :-D
