Hi,
I did integrate Google Maps into my app (or at least some basic functions), didn't work with CCT component.
It is not very hard to do so. API is more or less easy and there are plenty examples. Only thing that gave me some trouble was understanding how asynchronous calls worked in that API in JS. After that writing some wrappers to ease the development was pretty simple.
I will come back to the subject later, when I will work on final implementation. If it will possible I will publish some example, but that's still couple months out.
