Having problems with Apache on XP and Sessions with PHP and CC, well I have determined it was a documented MS bug:
http://www.apache.org/dist/httpd/binaries/win32/#xpbug
Some of us think this is a deliberate Microsoft bug to attack Open Source yet again....

Given a choice between MS's anti-open source conspiracy and just plain
incompetence, I'd say it was the latter. This is an area where they have an
excellent track record. <g>

Install apache_2.0.39-win32-x86-no_ssl, that has corrected the problem on XP
Entries for httpd.conf
---------------------------------------
ScriptAlias /php/ "C:/php-4.2.1-Win32/"
AddType application/x-httpd-php .php
AddType application/x-httpd-php .phtml
Action application/x-httpd-php "/php/php.exe"
Entry for php.ini
-----------------
session.save_path = "c:\temp\"
Best regards !

I had problems with sessions, Apache 2, and PHP 4.2. PHP 4.2 has register_globals turned off by default. This is new with the last few versions of PHP. I turned them back on in the php.ini file and all was well. To do this, put the following line in your php.ini file:
register_globals = On
Hope this helps.
