I have a large DB backend project that requires quite a lot of screen customisation, and after a long search CCS looks like being the best tool for the job.
But CCS 4 had a bit of a reputation for bugs. I had problems with the CCS 5 install. And the most recent post on this forum as I write is about a crashing bug.
The functionality on CCS is impressive, but if I run into show-stopping stability issues I'll be in real trouble - I simply HAVE to deliver on time!
I would very much welcome in-the-trenches feedback - is CCS working for you in your complex commercial projects?
Thanks

It's a DOTNET application and I reckon a few of the quirks in CCS come from there...

Thanks for the quick response. I'll trade off a few "quirks" to get at the productivity features, provided they don't get in the way too much. My question is, how much do they get in the way??

Hi,
I use CCS from the first release. I bought the CCS5 at the first day. I created an application in middle size but I got many problems. That is why I've been using CCS4 now. You can create your app with CCS4 , I think.
I've been waiting a final-stable release of CCS5 in heartily. Because I like very much to use CCS5 and its new futures.
Best regards.

Hi,
I am writing quite a large project in CCS 5. There are some issues still, but for all I managed to found a workaround (mainly connected to Update Panel).
For me it is production ready. However keep in mind that a often backup is a very good idea. I can recommend free Cobian backup software: http://www.cobiansoft.com/index.htm
Oh and it combines nicely with jQuery, which I started to incorporate into the project recently.

Hi,
I think, I must correct my previous post. I started a new CCS5 project with take courage from Lucius's previous post.
Before I started my project I learned new futures of CCS5. Project is developing very well. That is why I'll continue to use CCS5 afterwards.
Even, I adapted my project to Twitter Bootstrap (and also jQuery).
I'm sorry my incorrect information.
Best regards.

Hi,
I am working with CC5 on a Windows XP platform. I have the full version but I generally tend to use only the PHP-option. I want to use C# but they use Inmotion what seems to be a dead framework?
What I have noticed that it's a memory hog. It eats a lot of memory. It seems to use Microsoft's script engine and when you do something wrong it totally crashes the software. You must kill it using taskmanager. So it's important to save as often as possible.
It's not unusual for it to get out of sync in case you move some label or something and if you haven't saved you have to redo everything again. That said it saves a lot of time but it takes some time to learn.
Regards, Fredrik.
