how to get quater dates automaticaaly

dear frnds!

I enter start date and end date for example 12-12,2011 and 12-12-2014.
now i want to generate quarter dates between these two dates automatically? can any one guide me. i am using mysql and php.

Here's one possible way. It's based on sql server but should be doable in mysql.
