Having just installed 8.1 I now get this error when trying to include a page:

Object doesn't support property or method 'attachEvent'

Using ver. 5.0 and artisteer 3 template. CCS was working perfectly prior to the Windows 8.1 install.

Any ideas?

I tried installing 5.1 and I get the same error when I attempt to load a project in the following file:
file:///C:/Program%20Files%20(x86)/CodeChargeStudio5/Components/Dialogs/Common/common.js

Line 1577 Char: 5

This is: window.attachEvent("onload", CommonOnLoad);

I have logged three support tickets but have not got a reply (automated or otherwise) yet.

Same problem here. Can't use CCS anymore. Won't be using it anymore soon. Getting worse with every new version.

I hate to say this but I am relieved that someone else has the same problem.
I have tried everything to no avail and have not heard a peep from Yessoftware re my support logs.,
The closest I have come to an answer is here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/apps/dn...ecated_dom_apis

It appears that attachEvent has been replaced by addEventListener.
However, if I replace all of those in the common.js file, the CCS Options open and you can select them but clicking the OK button crashes the system.

IF I do not hear from support today, I am going to have to revert to Windows 8.1 and start with a clean PC. To get back up to working speed is about 12 hours if I do that. I am about to give up on all of this!

One would think that some people at YesSoftware would monitor these forums and notice this thread.

I have logged three support tickets regarding this and still have not had a reply.
I also posted on Stackoverflow and someone has just replied that they also have the same hassle.

Windows 8.1 released 1 day ago. Update the operating system on the day of its release - it's a real optimism. :-D
I think updates with fix will be available soon.

Optimism it may well be but let me tell you, 8.1 is pretty brilliant in every other app I have tried....except CCS. In retrospect, it may have been a bit dumb!

Windows 8.1 solved a lot of performance issues on my PC. CCS is the only incompatible app so far.

Hello!
Thank you all for reporting issues related to CCS 5.x and Windows 8.1. We're aware that some problems do exist and we're working on a solution.
We'd recommend that you report about every issue you found in our support system. We're reviewing all bug reports and we're going to issue patch/update next week.

Thank you all for cooperation.

I've installed Windows 7 on a VirtualBox machine and just as I was ready to start working again, I couldn't activate CCS because it says I exceeded the activation limit. Talk about losing an entire day of work... Why is there a limit on the number of activations from the same IP?!?

Hi Stephane,

I am running CCS five on an old machine where it actually works and on the new Win8.1 machine where it doesn't but I have had no registration hassles. The IP has nothing to do with it as I do not have a static IP. Must be something else.

Still no reply from CCS Support!!!

I uninstalled and reinstalled CCS several times, this is why I exceeded the maximum number of activations.

Stephane, Activation Key linked to the Hardware Key. On the same PC hardware key not changed and you can install and reinstall CCS infinite times. :)
You install CCS to the different PC's with one serial number - this is why you exceeded the maximum number of activations. ;-)

Yes I know, I had to setup 2 Windows 7 VPS to run CSS. I also happen to have a laptop and a backup computer. I need to run CCS on 2 computers because you can't install 5.0 and 5.1 on the same PC and there's a CCS project that doesn't migrate well to 5.1

Dear CCS users,
We'd like to notify you that due to some unexpected problems we've faced while working on the fix for Windows 8.1 the CCS update is delayed. Our team is working hard to create the update as soon as possible. And we hope to release it in the near future.
Thank you for your patience!

CCS Team.
