I see a lot of reports of problems with the MySQL connection for CCS v5.1. Has anyone found the solution?

My (direct) connection sets up okay, tests okay, but no database is available when building grid, record, etc.

I have asked Support for help, but if anyone has a solution meantime it would be helpful as turnaround time is usually more than a week.

Thanks for any help offered.

I could be lucky, but my latest CCS 5.1 project uses MySQL without any real problems. I haven't had databases disappear from designers. (Windows 7)

I did have to change the date format to be the same between my Design and Live servers - but that was me using ISO standard yyyy-mm-dd instead of the US default.

Forgot to include this: I'm on Windows 8.1.

I have the same problem. Support tells me to install the latest updates. No help. Works fine in Windows 7, but I cannot do anything on my win 8.1 laptop.

In my case, it was my own error. I was trying to access a database that was not setup properly. Once it was setup properly, my Direct Connection worked as it should.

I only figured this out by diagnosing a connection made via MS Excel. It failed there, too, which told me there was something wrong with the database -- not CCS.
