PROBLEM:
I need a way to open 2 pages with 1 submit operation.

I have a data entry form (with a grid beneath it) that collects a large amount of engineering test data for a single engineeering test. Normally, we would just submit that form using an ADD button to write that data to the database. The RETURN PAGE would bring us right back to the same page and it would be ready for the next test and we can see the just added test in the grid.

However, we have now implemented a step where we take the same data and write it to a Non Code Charge Studio page that is setup to print barcodes. We just Print Screen it and it works great.

We currently do it in two steps with two different buttons: 1 button to Print Barcodes and then a 2nd button to save the data. People sometimes print the barcode but FORGET to save the data.

DESIRED OUTCOME:
Would like to save the data to the database + open the barcode page + return to original page in 1 step. The barcode page can open in a new tab/window but I would like the return page property to bring me back to the original page so we can enter the next engineering test (and see the previously entered test in the grid below.)

POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS:
I could write some kind of ajax javascript to store the data to the database and then go the barcode page but that method doesn't automatically bring me back to original page. Also it seems like there ought to be an easier way.

Any solutions or possible better ways to approach this would be much appreciated. It can happen on either the server or client side.

Thanks
John
