 Installing Codecharge 5.1 under ubuntu 14.04 with wine

Hi,

i try to install Codecharge 5.1.1.18990 under ubuntu 14.04 with wine. i got problem with registering an active-x component. the following component could not be registered: c:\Program Files\CodeChargeStudio5\ODBCTool.dll

Hast someone an idea ?

CodeWeavers say CCS will never work under wine. There's a few posts about the subject across this forum. Plenty have tried but give it a go.

Some will recommend VirtualBox - that's a good option, personally I prefer VMWare with it's unity mode - you can hide the OS and make the apps look like they are running under Ubuntu.

Find the VMWare bundle and install from script..

I agree with Michael - I use VMWare and have tried virtualbox - but for me the AUD$70 cost for VMWare is cheap for a supported product.
