Has anyone integrated a control for controlling a scanner? Running PHP on a Linux server and PHP on my local server.
What I need is a button in a form that when clicked it will start a scan on a portable USB connected scanner, and upload the document to the web server.
There seem to be some browser plugins that claim to do this but they are specific to certain browsers etc. I need something that will work in all browsers.
Just hoping that one of you have actually achieved something like this!

Java will be your friend here. See Jsane

Thanks DataDoIT. That looks promising. At first glance the client's mobile scanners are no shown as being supported. (Vupoint Magic Wand IV). I will contact them first to check.
Will also post back here on the results.
