@MM
Set up a tiny Windows Server instance on either the Amazon Web Services
or Google Cloud. Literally pennies an hour. Look at AutomatiCloud for
starting and stopping the instances on demand or on schedule.
Launch the Winblows instance directly into CodeCharge. It'll be as if
you've launched CodeCharge directly on your Linux desktop.
Or, accomplish the same thing with VirtualBox running locally.
Cats can be skinned in many ways these days.

CCS is one of the very things I can't find an open source solution for. I have my other company running on a 32 bit Centos server with openvpn clients, OpenSuse Leap 42 workstations, NIS domain client logon integrated Samba file sharing, Citadel email server and 4 php mysql database applications.. My OpenSuse desktops with Libre Office can do just about anything Windows can... except CCS.....
My server chews up less than 200mb ram at idle. I am running spamassassin but not bothering wth clamav as it wants 400mb ram for itself. When I look at these numbers I can't breathe thinking about letting proprietary OS and software exist for a day longer.

There's absolutely no point denying this will be a global game changer, no matter how much I'd like to defend ccs:
http://openui5.org/
This will allow everyone to learn jquery with ease.

Very nice - allowing data management screens to be rapidly generated (like in CCS) would be even nicer.
Handcoding should only be required for custom views and custom event handling for a complete line of business development solution.

Not seeing any difference between OpenUI5 and a CCS project with
Bootstrap (a Twitter source).
If you're gonna do a project with OpenUI5 (a SAP source), then why not
just go full-on open source with Node.js. Or, Rails perhaps. Just saying.

Because Openui5 will teach you jquery as SAP has a vested interest in maintaining a network of programmatic support for it's MVC.
Can always use your new found jquery skills with CCS.

And ... SAP might also be hosting their user forum on something faster than a single channel ISDN connection .. just sayin'

I appreciate all the posts here. I am still looking for the next best thing to replace CodeCharge. Not wanting to but seeing no other option.

Create a new forum?
I have the impression that this forum will not live very long in the future.
If there is not already another forum, I offer to create a forum on my server.
Someone interested?
Best regards
Wolfgang
nb: i could not create a new topic, the anser was some with proxy ...
