I can open and modify an existing project, but i'm unable to create a new blank project. if i try immediate crash. Any thoughts? a reboot doesn't resolve, neither does run as Admin.

Yes,
You are right
what i did was Install CCS as a trial in Windows 7 (Virtual)
and then Copy the Folder and Open in windows 10
(Just avoiding Create Project in Windows 10)
I have not time to get if error maybe Security or something with PROCMON (give a try if you have the time)
CCS5 work OK

Thank you so much. that worked for me., So, i created a new project as you suggested. i'll save it as a template for any future projects.

try to update your win10 OS, or patch the .net framework.

Are you able to create new project in Win10?
if so version and Build? (CCS Crash for me )

What about a VM with Windows 7?
Did you try that? It helped for a certain time, then it worked also with Windows 10

my setup is
- win10 (home 1909, 8gb RAM, corei5)
- build: OS Build 18363.778
- run as admin
- codecharge (5.1.1.18992)
I tried CCS in windows "server" 2016 and it also immediately shuts down, it could be because of the OS architechture?
Try to uncheck updates on launch or alter internet connection settings in codecharge.
win7 virtual is too laggy for me.
