I am using CCS 5.1 on Windows server 2012 and the IDE is slow to the point of unusability.
It takes almost 15 minutes to quick publish a page and ned to select retry in a message box at least once.
opening a page in Code window takes 3- 5 minutes.
Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks

Is this for a large page? Small pages, too?

Thanks for your interest. This slowness happens with all pages in the project.

Hi lawmart.
That sounds like a couple of different problems - opening pages is quite a different operation to publishing.
Some of this might depend on the web technology you're using. I get good performance opening pages and very fast FTP publishing running CCS on Windows 10 on a newish laptop. But then I'm running good old ASP, which, like PHP, is just text files. If you're using .NET then there are compile operations that might happen on open or publish.
Clicking Retry during publish (on the FTP upload dialog), on the other hand, means that a FTP file transfer has failed, and that won't be CCS's fault. It'll be poor internet connectivity or the file being locked/in use at destination.
Windows Server 2012 might be the problem. It's a lot older than the latest CCS, and might be running on nine-year-old hardware. Windows servers aren't optimised for running desktop apps by default. A good start would be to install CCS on a recent PC running Windows 10 (not server) even if just temporarily in order to rule your 2012 box in or out.
Enjoy CCS!
