First get the main packages:

-Java SDK from the the Sun/Javasoft site
-tomcat 4.x from the jakarta site
-ant from the jakarta site
-a deployment DB (mysql, oracle, etc)
-JDBC driver for your deployment DB
(for example mm.mysql or Connector/J for Mysql)

You need to put the JDBC driver jar file
in Tomcat's classpath- usually in the
$TOMCAT_HOME/common/lib directory.

Tomcat will probably be a bit more
stable on XP than Win98.

Get Tomcat up and running first- and get
comfortable with the tomcat admin and manager
sample apps.

To build your CCS app to deploy into the
environment- follow the steps in:

http://www.codecharge.com/download/files/pdf/ccs_java_deployment.pdf

This guide has additional library info
and deployment steps.

The actual steps will depend on JSP/XML vs servlets
and if Datasources will be used.

The general strategy is to build a WAR file
and then deploy it to $TOMCAT_HOME/webapps.
This WAR file will then be picked up and
you app will be expanded.

The samples that come with CCS are a good
starting point- get those to work in the
environment before trying to deploy your
own app.

hope this helps,
-bill
