I have 15 years of experience with RAD packages and database applications.
I am not a programmer and know only basic sql commands

Two weeks ago I discovered CodeCharge
I was sure my database dreams on the web platform came true .

I was entirely sure that at the end of the day I am going to send my credit card details.

But at the end of that day after exploring the documentation pages which are something like a bunch of screenshots I realized that I will need at lest 300 days of trial period until I get the all picture.

I even didn’t found any optimistic announces from YesSoftware about coming with a real user Guide and tutorials coming at near future. (may be because of the non successful forum).

I also think that a software company site deserves some more professional forum. This is really one of the most primitive forum concept I ever met.

So I am still here with my dream, and I know there is a hope.

And here are some of my proposals and recommendations to Owners of CC and/or Yessoftware:

1. Poor product with Excellent Documentation will make more money than excellent product with a very poor documentation.

2. Kidding about 300 trial days. Just sell CC2 for free. And make some good books about the Philosophy of CodeCharge , Sell them at Amazon site,
(I would pay 150$ for such a book) , and you are on the map.

3. Programmers cannot be authors of tutorials and user guides. So in the future give this job to people who learned this software by themselves. No one of the participants of the developing team can be part of the authoring team.

4. “CCStudio is for programmers, and CC2 for Non Programmers”
This is what all forum members accept about. But keep in mind that:
The majority of Professional programmers Don’t need and don’t believe in Tools like CCS. But Nonprogrammer are for years longing about Good RAD database software.

I believe that for each potential Programmer for CCstudio There are 100 Nonprogrammers for CC2..

5. So, Common YesSoftware, Keep in mind that if YOU won’t come with a real documentation , some others will do it, with their own package, and I believe they are on the way.

I agree with you. I do also believe that for each potential programmer customer for CC Studio there are 100 potential non-programmers customers for CC2.

It looks to me however, that Yes Software is concentrating all efforts in CCS with the intent of abandoning CC2.

I think it's always true that there are non-programmers looking for the quickest, best ways to compete with the capabilities of programmers. It's the natural progression when you didn't 'go to school' for it but would like to learn it.

But you can say that about any application. Especially for something like Cold Fusion, for example. Hell, I think it was made for non-programmers originally, and then it got more advanced, with more capabilities, like any good application.

I challenge the fact that real programmers don't need a RAD tool such as CCStudio. I am a programmer and I love that it speeds up my work so much. It really allows me to get things done. If a programmer is to stuck up on his own education and ability to write code 'with his bare hands', well, there's not much you can say to that. Ego is always a hinderance to some people. Hell, I'm sure the first people that used a toaster were really ridiculed for buying such a fancy-shmancy product when all you had to do was use a skillet.

To each his own, I say. And I LOVE CCStudio. And I think the non-programmers should be happy that YesSoftware chose to create a separate product as Studio so as not to abandon orignal CC altogether.
