I have received the infamous "must use an updateable query" error.
Everything works fine when published locally, after publishing to the host I get this message when attempting an update of database. Do I need to (or can I)set the permissions at the host, or is there some other answer?
winxp, asp, access 2k.

Make sure that the IIS user has write access to the MDB file itself, or the directory it is in.
There is no 'anonymous' access to IIS. When an anon connection (non-winnt auth) hits a site it is logged in as the web user, IUSR_<MACHINENAME>. If this user does not have write access to the MDB then you will get that message.
Right-click on the mdb file itself and go to 'Security'. If IUSR_<MACHINENAME> is not already in the list click 'Add', pick it, and click OK. Select that account and in the permissions area below check the 'write' box.
