I have used both and studio is far superior. It almost like CC was a prototype. The whole interface for studio is more intuitive. You have more options to do things. If you have used CC and then start working with the trial of studio you will see what I mean.

If you are an intermediate to advanced developer, use Studio. If you barely know how to code or are a beginner coder, regular CodeCharge will help you get started and do some pretty amazing stuff. It can be much easier to use, too, for beginners, because it really separates you from the code a lot more than Studio does. This can be both a strength and a weakness. Strength for beginners, and a weakness for more advanced coders.
Yes Studio is more flexible and more powerful than regular CodeCharge, but
I would never recommend a beginner coder to jump right into Studio unless you are really good with technology, because you really do need to have a decent understanding of how your chosen language works (be it ASP, PHP or whatever) before you can enjoy the freedom and flexibility that Studio offers.
But for both applications, you still need a decent understanding of databases and how to structure a database so that your web application/site will do what you want it to do, and efficiently. Regardless of the software you use, a bad database won't get you anywhere.
Whichever product you use, there are sample applications, and regardless of the complaints about documentation, there is enough documentation to help you get started. If you go with Studio, be sure to check out http://support.codecharge.com/tutorials.asp
