Can anyone give me the syntax on changing SQL parameters, eg I have a grid where the date range is dependent upon a users perferences.

So on the BeforeExecuteSelect() Event I want to change/override a Paramater 'StartDate' to something else.
My Code is

STC_USERS.DataSource.Parameters("STARTDATE") = '2001-01-01'
and it does nothing?

What am I doing wrong?

STC_USERS.DataSource.Parameters("STARTDATE") = "2001-01-01"
