Reading through the messages it seems that the product has attracted a pretty sizeable group of adventurous wannabees (myself included) who are prepared to put in a lot of effort to take advantage of the seemingly great proposition that one can make great strides in developing database based sites without having to be an expert programmer.(Or at least learn the programming as one goes along)
The mirage has created widespread frustration, but also a glimpse of what might be possible with better learning materials and a few key upgrades.
The noise from this message board over the past 90 days has largely been met with silence by Yes Software. It maybe because the product is not selling as well as they thought, it may be for competitive reasons, however, in my humble opinion it is past time for Yes to convey to its constituency upgrade, education and/or patch plans....Or we need to presume this continued silence means Yes Software believes they are not able to compete against .NET or others, are in the middle of being acquired, or that this is a dead end.
I do believe that this product is based on a great premise, and selfishly would like to believe that the product has a chance of keeping or getting me in the game against exp. programmers.
PLEASE TALK TO US...keep us loyal....and your user base will grow exponentially.....
IGNORE US...you may as well file Chapter 11

DIdnt realize the last few messages on the Why Community thread are saying basically the same thing. Ah well..maybe the more voices that shout, the better chance we have of been heard...or at least draw our own conclusions as to this products future

Pinnochio,
I have to agree with you on some points. I think this is a wonderful program and I have been able to do a lot with it and it has taught me a lot.
The downside is, that I am learning to program in Code Charge ASP and not true ASP. There is a ton of code that CCS writes that is CCS specific and unless you can weed through the code it writes, makeing modifications by hand is really hard.
I have submitted a few requests for the next upgrade, as many others have. I think that with a little more work, they can take a real good product and make it fantastic.
As far as their support, well I have mixed feelings on that. There are some tech's that I hate to hear from. But there is also one that is wonderful. Her name is Helen and she has been very helpful to me. She is very detailed in her responses and explains things in a way that newbies like me can understand. GO HELEN!
These are my thoughts for what they are worth.

I rarely visit this forum myself (maybe because YES doesn't participate here), but I am frequently communicating with YES via their support system. I may even ask them some questions posted here. Pinnochio, you can probably do the same instead of trying to spread rumors.

OK, maybe presumptions rather than rumors because you wrote "we need to presume...".
I also would like to hear something but surely I'm not going to hear it by talking to myself on this forum
I may let you know if I hear something from the support. Just submitted a request about CCS and KB updates, but not sure if I'll be online if they reply tomorrow or so.

I understand your feelings and frustrations Pinnochio
Let us unite and persuade YES SOFTWARE to honour their promise to..."Keep the Knowledge Base Updated"...This is a very simple task.
YES SOFTWARE MUST STOP... the frustration, duplication of effort and time wasted by users...AND THEMSELVES...and put their LOGGED SUPPORT ANSWERS ETC into the "Knowledge Base"
This will centralise information as YES SOFTWARE initially intended and help focus and unite the Community/Forum and encourage more "Givers" and others to take part.
Regards
Tony M
