Hi all,
I am looking for the best way to handle a situation I have run into. I need to creat a shopping cart database that will have about 200,000 items and some of the items will have options such as color, size, male or female, and others. I need the client to have the ability to add new items with these options. I don't want to list them all as seporate products because it would be time consuming for the client to enter in every item with each option as a seporate item in the store. I thought about using seporate tables for the options but there my be several different options so I didn't think this would be efficient. Does anyone have any ideas. I am using ccs with apache and php with a mySQL database.
Thanks,
Walter

Hi,
Maybe you could let the client choose wich options are valid for the new product(checkboxes) and then based on those choices redirect to a record wich only shows values for those options?
Group your options based on product types. A toaster would be les likely to have an option like size, female/male etc. that way only relevant options would show on the record.
