Can you be more specific about the two machines and their uses. See my quick answers listed below. If this does not work repost a response and I will see what I can do to help.

1. Is the Book demo loaded on both computers?
A. yes, then ensure that you have the correct permission set under IIS
B. No the demo is loaded only on one machine and the other is attempting to
connect to it.
1. Ensure you have an ODBC DNS connection to the database on the machine
you are trying to connect too
2. Ensure you have a ODBC DNS connection to the database on the
machine you are trying to connect too.

Quick Note on Demos:

When installing the default demos they use ODBC DNS connections. If you owned Codecharge you could change it to a connection-less DNS configuration and you would not run into this problem.

Gah! :(

Look like is something with the new Patch for XP that isnt working good :(
after i update the XP pro the other computer isnt working either :(

i make a simple program just to open the database and display data and worked good with XP pro!

but with codecharge:
XP pro not working, Win2k is Working. same enviroment, Same Project \

anyway i could trace, debug where the program should be stoping (cuase is stay loading and loading)

wondering what Microsoft did!

I loaded the book store example and ran into no problems. I am using XP pro SP1 + all security updates, CC 2.05 and using the access mdb that come with the example.

Look at the security settings on IIS directory on the computer that will not work. Ensure they are the same as on the one that does. Try this and respond back.

I am running XP Pro SP1 too. I had a problem with the upgrade to SP1.

After removing the ugraded XP-Pro-SP1 and performing a fresh install of XP-Pro-SP1 from the full CD all is fine.

Well :(

after an intensive:
response.write "I'm Here"
Response.end

here is the problem:
Set Strm = FileSystem.OpenTextFile(FilePath, ccsOpenForReading)

Guess what?
Damitm Norton Script Blocking!

Problem Fixed

I am getting exactly the same thing with the 'Portal' demo application on a Dell with the same setup. No error messages but it 'hangs' and nothing ever appears in the browser. Incidently the processor appears to be nearly idling all the time.

So I am another one needing an answer and I have submitted it to support.

Following Johnny's fix and 'deconfiguring' Norton Antivirus Scripting on my XP system I am happy to report all is well.
On a Win2000 test machine it has always been well, but that does not have NAV installed, should have seen that one earlier.
Well done Johnny, thanks and happy CCS'ing
Ken
