 CCS erases custom events code

Beware: CCS 2.0 (yes the buggy final) just wiped out over 75 lines of custom events script in php. The page had been generated about a dozen times before and then... surprise! all your code is gone!
With this and the confirmed (unbroadcast by Yes) bug in the editable grid inserts for php, I am getting more and more disappointed with the "final" release.
Is this another bug? Yes software has confirmed the insert bug mentioned above, but has failed to reveal the issue to all users. Is this events problem another unrevealed, known bug?
How about a known bugs page?

I have a couple of issues that when reported to YES also returned the statement it is a bug and has been reported to the development team. I agree there should be a page for bugs and issues that everyone can see!

The news & updates page is supposed to show "known issues", but these and others never seem to make it.

Also... shouldn't a commercially supported product release a patch when it turns out that functionality (i.e. the editable/insertable grid issue above).

I love using CCS, but its hard to justify continuing to use it when you can't rely on critical problems being communicated and solved.

How about we start here posting them here:

We've located this problem and our developers have already fixed it so in
the future release it'll be OK. If you want to solve this problem in current
CCS you need to add checkbox control to your editable grid and in editable grid
properties select it as Delete Control.

Marcus & Yes,

We know the bug and the solution, but what about the hundreds out there ripping their hair out because of an unrevealed bug? How many CCS users will ever find and read this piddley little posting? The primary issue is releasing to the public a list of known bugs, like all other legit software efforts. A secondary issue is having to wait for the "next" release instead of getting a patch. Meanwhile, workarounds are created that only break once the bug is fixed.

Hello all

I have been working with the CCS 2.0 release and find it also not as stable as one would expect. Most of my PHP projects work but I'm having issues with file-upload in ASP, I ve just ordered some more web-space so I will be testing CF and JSP versions of my projects as well.

The point raised is very by EMG is very relevant to us developers :

Yes has to be prompt and update the information pages when bugs and issues are reported. I for one am not satified with this piecemeal approach and would like to see the current issues and bugs posted clearly on the support site so I'm not wasting my time working around problems that are soon to be fixed.

While I'm on the subject - why does YES SOFWARE delay such bug-fixes... they have a working update mechanism in CCS 2.0 why don't they push bug-fixes out to registered users when they are ready.... there's no need to wait

I thought this program (CC/CCS) would save me time... apparently not

If there is no response from YS I will put up a bug-list on the KnowledgeBase.

Sorry for the rant
Greetings
Dave

I AGREE!!!
When a bug is solved a patch should be placed on the download site and not wait till the next release. Any software worth its cost will post bug fixes on an ongoing basis without cost to the customers. As this company is as new as it is I understand some hesitation on bug fixes until some extra testing is completed but to leave it till the next release? Well I hope some other company (MS, Macromedia) doesn't decide to come out with the same product in the meantime if you know what I mean.

This issue is beginning to repel my clients. A lack of response to this matter greatly degrades your product's credibility and acceptance.

I've also encountered this in a record type form. All of a sudden, I can't see the custom code in the tree view on the event properties window anymore but the code is still there when viewing code in the document window. However, after generating again, my custom codes are now commented out and prefixed with "DEL". I wonder why? Has anyone submitted a support request for this?

I was using the "Find/Replace in Files" feature and I noticed that all my manually created links were changed to lowercase and practically useless (case sensitive) where I actually was trying to replace something else. In many of the touched files the beginning <html> tag was gone. In 2 or 3 files a whole portion of the html code was missing.

just realised, with the custom code DEL bug, abnormal program terminations in IDE and other serious issues I daren't use CCS sitting together with my clients!

this is my primary projected workspace for CCS, and where it should save us time and have the stabilty and solid feel of (dare I say it loud?) CC.

There is much to fix and I suggest that Yes push patches out asap to it's increasingly disgruntled customers.

Greetings

I have final version of CSS under WinXP Pro SP-1. Instalation passed fine, but I found some problems in CSS. I made a test page with just a few fields in the grid, and when tried to change source field for a label CCS crashed down!
Another interesting thing is that in WinXP popup windows is written that problem caused application ccs.exe version 2.0.5.3 (under properties->version of every single file I found same situation), but I have installed final version of CCS 2.0.5.6 (I can see that in Help->About CCS). How it can be possible? It didn't happened on Win2k Pro.
Does anybody know to solve this problem?

Did you uninstall the previous version before installing the latest? Try uninstalling what you have now, restart your computer to make sure everything is gone, install the latest version. After that click on help->about codechargestudio, it should state the version number as 2.0.5.6

Just popped in to say that the
http://support.codecharge.com/updates.asp
site has been updated to include announcement of an impending patch and a list of issues.

Well done Yes Software, please appreciate that we are dedicated customers who wish this product all success.
