After i ran windows update, CC refused to startup at all, having just an error box witha Red X

repair install of CC fixed this, and CC starts but now I find, that I too have lost all popup properties windows, for page and forms

page info popup works (empty as usual), the CC publishes ok, just no properties popups.

things I have tried:

1/ Uninstalling the windows update:
this uninstall seemed to go ok, but CC still doesnt work

2/ repair install of CC:
this all went ok, but CC still doesnt work

3/ full CC Uninstall and reistall New:
this all went ok, but CC still doesnt work

4/ Uninstall IE6 from control panel/ windows components & Reinstall:
this all went ok, but CC still doesnt work

5/ Repair install 2nd time onto New installed IE6:
this all went ok but CC still doesnt work

Codecharge studio popups from the toolbox all work ok, and popups in IE6 all work ok, Page Info popup from CC works, but properties popups for page & forms do not.

Help, anyone got any suggestions at all

unfortunatly I had rollback turned off, so thats not an option.

I honestly cannot think of anything which i have not tried already.

all i can think of is that the code in the GUI for the properties popups, must be somehow different from the Page Info, and from the popups in Toolbox section of CCS

It must be a GUI problem somehow, but what can I do which i havnt tried already.

Anyone any suggestions ?

BTW :

Yes i have made a support request, but thats part of the USA seems to be asleep, so i am watching the clock waiting for them to wake.

Hopefully YesSoftware will make this a priority bug, and try to trace it asap.

I had the exact same problem. Here is the reply I received from codecharge support:

It seems there are some problems with most recent IE security patch. To use CC you have to uninstall it temporarily until we discover a workaround.

To remove (uninstall) this update, use the Add or Remove Programs
(or Add/Remove Programs) tool in Control Panel. Click Internet
Explorer Q813489, and then click Change/Remove (or Add/Remove).

It worked for me!

I have just gone through all the options again

I completely removed CC, even down to the registry entries

I saved the serial and auth key registry entries into a .reg file then deleted all CC mention in regedit, (dont try this if your not happy with regedit, if you never even opened regedit befor, dont even bother trying at all.)

I then un-installed IE6 totally

rebooted

installed new ie6 sp1

rebooted

installed CC from fresh d/l of setup file
imported the .reg after install
didnt start CC yet

rebooted

started CC, and it works again, popups now are ok

I had Q813489 already installed when I installed CC. CC didn't work, I uninstalled Q813489, I used CC, it worked, birds sang, all was right in the world.

I uninstalled Q813489. I thought for a moment my right had been severed...
All was well thanks Vince.
