Hello, I am using CCS2, SQL, ASP. I modified bug tracking example a bit (added few fields, email capabilites..)
I have problems with two fields:
ListBox Assigned_by (data source: employees, bound column: emp_id, text column: emp_name) and
Bug_Resolution (control source: bug_resolution, type: memo)

Data entered in thoese filed is entered in the database. Just when Bug details are displayed Assigned_By just shows a list box with Select Value, and Bug Resolution is empty.

Similar fields Assigned To and Bug Description work well. I haven't find any differences between working and non-working field.

Thanks for your help

I forgot to mention that if I change Control Source for TextArea bug_resulution to let's say bug_desc, bug_desc is properly shown in the bug detail form.
Same thing with assigned_by. If I change control source of the ListBox to user_id_assign_to, that is properly displayed in the bug detail form.

I tried different ODBC settings, but still no luck. If I create a separate record form with just bug_resolution field, field shows up fine.
Has anybody have similar problems.

Thanks

What version of CCS are you using?

Did you try building your own OLE connection in "Connects"?

Yes, I tried to build my connection. Did not help. Worst part is that if I rearange drop down lists and text areas, then sometimes different fields do not work. Right now, a different drop down list does not show values.
That is very strange. Any help is appreciated

Are you using any "Memo" fields in your Record?

If so try moving the feilds in your database used for "Memo" to the bottom and check the ListBoxes again.

This reminds me of a problem awhile ago when the memo fields caused the problem.

Currently I keep all my MSSQL database "Text" and large "Varchar" feilds used as Memo's at the bottom of the database table. This is what fixed it way back when. I just do this by habit now days and have never experienced the problem again.

Thanks a lot GreggB. I actualy further changed database connection, and it looks like it works now. I'll keep in mind your advice about text and varchar fileds for future applications.

Thanks again.
